Adding and editing an OAI-PMH site
Adding an OAI-PMH site creates a process that uses the OAI-PMH standard to harvest asset metadata from an OAI-PMH provider. When the site definition is established you can run full or update (also called delta) harvests to obtain asset metadata from the site. After running a harvest of the site, an OAI-PMH folder is created in the target folder you select in your repository. This folder is the destination of all the harvests you make from the site.
You can edit the name and Internet address of an OAI-PMH site. You can also select a different target folder for the OAI-PMH folder. If you select a different target folder, Portfolio moves the site’s OAI-PMH folder to the selected target folder.
To add or edit an OAI-PMH site
- Log in to the Admin console.
- Choose Assets from the navigation pane.
- Choose Import/Export Assets (for more information, see Fields: Import/Export Assets).
- Choose OAI-PMH Harvest Sites (for more information, see Fields: OAI-PMH Harvest Sites.

Do one of the following
- To add a site to harvest, choose Add Site.
- To edit an existing site, choose the Edit OAI-PMH Harvest Site Details option for the site you want to edit.

Select the settings you want to apply to the site.
Note: When editing an existing site, if you select a different target folder, the OAI-PMH folder for the site will be moved to the new target folder. All updates and full harvests will happen in the new target folder.
- When you have finished, choose OK to save the settings and close the page, or chose Cancel to close the page without saving the changes.
